Julie Reeder, Ph.D., MPH, CHES is the Senior Research Analyst with the State of Oregon WIC Program. In her 15 years in the position she has conducted multiple mixed methods studies that have explored the influence of peer counselors and changes to the WIC food packages on long term, exclusive breastfeeding. She has also studied the integration of motivational interviewing in WIC, the pros and cons of technology in the program, and recently published a systematic review on the level of evidence for cooking-related interventions. Current work focuses on better integrating WIC in to the larger health system as well as better connecting to Early Learning. Julie is also Associate Editor for the Journal of Nutrition Education and Behavior and Incoming Chair Elect for the American Public Health Association Food and Nutrition Section.
