Shaletha Mitchell, a Cleveland native, is an intense advocate for youth academic development, and is a passionate promoter of digital literacy and inclusion. Shaletha currently serves as the Center Director for the Cleveland-Region Interprofessional Area Health Education Center, in the School of Nursing at Cleveland State University. Grounded in education, she has also worked at Cuyahoga Community College, Case Western Reserve University and The Ohio State University in various academic capacities. Dedicated to community service and being an agent of change, Mitchell has served as the President of the Board of Directors of the Ashbury Senior Computer Community Center for the past 15 years, and is also serving in her second term as a Cleveland Metropolitan School District Board Member (2015 – 2019). Additionally, Shaletha is a member of Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority, Inc. and serves on the Executive committee of the Minority Health Alliance. Mitchell’s interests are multifaceted and she holds various certifications, including, group fitness instructor, personal fitness trainer, lifestyle coach, state nurse’s assistant, and event planner. She achieved doctoral candidate status at Kent State University in Health Education and Promotion. Mitchell earned a master’s degree from Cleveland State University in exercise physiology and sports management and a bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University in psychology and black studies.. She is an avid sports enthusiast and a compassionate animal lover.
